“21N” is the core modification technology of the TECHNYL STAR AF series, integrating the following innovations:
📈 Ultra-High Flowability: Through a special lubricant dispersion system, melt flow is enhanced by 40%+ compared to standard PA66 GF30, significantly increasing spiral flow length while dramatically reducing injection pressure and clamping force requirements.
✨ Superior Surface Quality: 21N technology dramatically reduces glass fiber exposure, delivering a smooth, uniform matte surface finish suitable for appearance-critical components, eliminating secondary painting operations.
⚡ Reduced Injection Pressure: High flowability allows lower injection pressures and faster fill speeds, extending mold life and reducing energy consumption by 15%-25%.
• High Rigidity: Dry tensile modulus of 10000 MPa and flexural strength of 285 MPa provide excellent structural load-bearing capacity.
• Excellent Low-Temperature Impact: Charpy impact strength at -30°C reaches 58-64 kJ/m², suitable for cold environment applications.
• Improved Toughness After Conditioning: Strain at break increases from 3% to 8%, notched impact increases from 10 to 15 kJ/m².
• 21N Surface Optimization: Achieves excellent surface quality while maintaining high flowability.
🌡️ Thermal Properties
| Melting Temperature (10°C/min) | 260°C |
| HDT (0.45 MPa) | 257°C |
| HDT (1.80 MPa) | 243°C |
• Melting point of 260°C, within standard PA66 processing range.
• HDT of 243°C (1.8 MPa) — leading performance for 30% glass fiber reinforced PA66, suitable for high-temperature engine compartment environments.
• Heat-aging stabilized system ensures long-term service reliability.
🔥 Burning Behaviour
| Flammability (1.5 mm) | HB Rating (UL 94) |
| Burning Rate (FMVSS, Thickness 1 mm) | < 100 mm/min |
TECHNYL STAR AF 218 V30 BK 21N is specifically optimized for Muccell® microcellular foam injection molding technology. Its ultra-high flowability ensures uniform cell structure formation and excellent surface quality during the foaming process, while achieving 5%-20% density reduction, minimizing warpage, and shortening cycle times — making it an ideal solution for lightweight structural components.
🔧 Processing Conditions
• Drying Temperature/Time: 80°C
• Suggested Max Moisture: 0.2%
• Material is supplied in airtight bags, ready for use. If moisture absorption occurs, dry with dehumidified air equipment (dew point ≤ -20°C) for 2-4 hours.
Injection Temperatures:
• Rear Zone: 265 – 275°C
• Middle Zone: 270 – 280°C
• Front Zone: 280 – 290°C
Recommended Mold Temperature:
• 60 – 90°C
• Up to 120°C for high surface quality requirements
⚠️ Injection Molding Advice
- Equipment Wear Protection — For reinforced polyamides, use high carbon content steel with polishing purification, such as X38CrMoV5-1 (EN 1.2367/1.2343) or X160CrMoV12 (EN 1.2601/1.2379).
- Process Window Control — Incorrect processing conditions (temperature, residence time, moisture level) can affect part quality and accelerate equipment wear.
- Utilize 21N Flow Advantage — Use medium-to-high injection speeds to fully leverage high flow characteristics, reducing injection pressure by 15%-20% and shortening cycle times.
